Last month we sold our 2016 hire bikes and bought a brand new hire fleet for 2017. Read on to find out about what we do with our mountain bikes at the end of the season and what bikes we have bought for 2017.
We look after our hire bikes really well and it was great to see how good they looked at the end of the season. All the bikes are covered in Invisiframe and are checked by a mechanic once a week. Anything that is worn is changed or doesn´t work well is serviced or changed. We only rent bikes as part of our trips so it means that a guide is always there to make sure that the bikes are looked after. At the end of the season we carried out an extensive service including the following points:
- Remove Invisiframe and check frame fully.
- Replace drivetrain for new.
- Full, profesional shock and fork service. Based on this we replaced 2 shocks and 1 fork so the new bikes came with new shock and fork.
- Replace all frame bearings.
- New tyres where they were worn.
- Check all components and replace as need. This year we replaced 2 cranks and 2 mechs which weren´t changing right.
- New grips.
- Deep clean from our OCD mechanic. (Should go without saying!)

We had a lot of interest in selling these bikes.
