Backcountry Pyrenees Mountain Bike Holiday: New Trails!
Zona Zero is one of the places we will visit on our Backcountry Pyrenees mountain bike tour. This is an area that friends have developed to give marked enduro mountain biking trails and we always spend one day of our Backcountry Pyrenees mountain bike holidays here, using the BasqueMTB van for uplift duties and picking a selection of trails that we have found work well with uplift. Being friends with the people who have developed the singletracks here mean that we get to hear about new trails first and also we get shown different ways of linking and uplifting trails to make the most of the riding.
The trail in the video was one that the local riders, including Oriol who is the lead rider in the video above, told us about and we headed down there to ride, check out the trail for inclusion in our holidays and shoot the video. There were two twists of fate that day, the first was that we bumped into Oriol on the trails and he offered to show us the trail personally. The second was that the beautiful light we enjoyed in the morning dissapeared just as we arrived at the trail head, meaning the light for the descent was poor and the video quality wasn’t what we planned. We have decided to release it regardless and hope that everyone enjoys it regardless of the light!
Riding with local rippers, especially those who have built the trail is always difficult. Oriol is fast. Very fast! I was riding my Orbea Occam S10, which is a flying machine, however it was hard to keep up with Oriol, and once we got down into the tighter stuff it was just impossible. The other rider is a friend, Antonio, who is another mountain bike guide who we collaborate with on our Backcountry Pyrenees and Basque Coast mountain bike holidays.
These Trails are on the Ainsa Enduro Mountain Bike Holiday!
